Landscape General Labourer
As a Landscape General Labourer, you'll join our crew Monday - Friday, weather dependent, to assist with the completion of landscape and construction projects. We focus on serving the southern Manitoba region, particularly Winkler and Morden, with occasional out-of-town projects.
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more years’ experience in the landscape/construction industry.
Responsibilities Overview
Monday to Friday 10-hour working days
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Construct walkways and patios, walls, fences, decks, etc.
Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, and hand lifting/carrying
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
Operate various tools including: chainsaws, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
Requirements
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English)
Effective problem solving skills and proactive approach
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Demonstrate competency with specific materials, methods, tools, equipment and techniques required to complete required tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
